Truck wont start/clicking-bad connection?
Truck wont start/clicking-bad connection?
Well yesterday I was installing my efan controller. I simply wired the red positive into the starter solenoid and when I went home she was clicking. So I simply jump-started into second and thought it was a dead battery. Well this morning she won't start. I took off the battery terminals and cleaned the posts and terminals with some sandpaper, and even poured some Coke into the showing wires that are crimped. I know the battery has juice, but she just wont start, just an annoying clicking sound.
I'm having trouble if it is the starter solenoid or the battery connections?

That's the starter RELAY; the solenoid is ON the starter.

The problem is that nasty (+) battery clamp. Go to NAPA & buy this:

When you remove the clamp bolt, pull the wire & its ring terminal out of the clamp. Use a wire brush (preferrably brass, but steel if necessary) to clean the ring terminal thoroughly. DO NOT apply grease to it. Attach it securely to the new clamp. DO NOT apply grease to it. Clean the battery post thoroughly & spray on "Battery Terminal Cleaner & Leak Detector", then install the new clamp w/wire.
You won't use the ring terminals included with the new clamp now, but save them for other projects.
