Question Master Code for keypad

I have recently purchased an '02 f150 super crew. It has the locking keypad on drivers door. I called a local dealership here they wanted $200 to give me the master code for my truck, I thought this was a little ridiculous... I was told the master code would be located under the dashboard on the passenger side. But I can't seem to find it. Can any one help me on this. I am sorry if I posted this to the wrong forum didn't know where else to place it.

Thanks
Jeff

first off, have you looked through your owners manual? you just might find the original card with the code hidden somewhere in the pages. it is printed on a card about the size of a credit card. believe it or not, my 06 had one in the book, and it didnt even come with the key code handle from the factory. after i put one on, it was the right code.

i know that on the newer body style trucks, you can either obtain the code from the pcm (stealership does this), OR, you can get it from the body control module located behind the rear seat back (it will have a sticker on it with the 5 digit code). you can remove the rear seat back, and you should see what im talking about, if it is the same for the 97-03 models.

good luck !

On the 2002, the code is on the CSM, behind the dash, there is not a BSM / VSM in them.

Also, the PCM does not have the code in it, it is only on the CSM, if added.

The dealer was going to charge you 200 to look up behind the dash.

You are looking up behind the dash for it.

Note parking brake to the left side of the picture.
Driver's side floor.

Looking up behind dash.
Left side of picture is the ratchet mech for the parking brake.

The white in the upper left hand corner of the picture is the CSM, there will be a 5 digit number on it. That is the factory code.

BTW : There is no master code, each CSM has a different 5 digit factory code.

Talking 2004 F150 XLT Module with key less entry code

The module on 2004 f150 XLT 4 doors 2 about 12 inches long. NOT CREW CAB.
I found the module on the driver side wall between the back wall of the cab and the back door. You have to pull back the plastic as this piece will not come off without a GREAT DEAL OF WORK. When you pull the plastic back be careful since there is a single wire right against the plastic and it will be easy to pull loose or break. You will need someone else to look at the number while you pull back the plastic. I just used a digital camera and pulled with one hand and reached around and snapped a picture.

Watch the MY in the profile.

The VSM / BSM is in the C -pillar on a std cab, and under the window for the SCab / SCrew for '04 + New body styles.

1999 to 2003 MY the RAP / CSM is under the dash for any body style.

fishguy0580 is asking about a 2002 MY truck.

I understand that this thread did not refer to my year or type of truck. However, when I was searching for my truck all I found was the question of Where is it for the 2004...... (in several forums) and answers for so many other years. I figured that if I post the exact position in a couple of forums maybe others who may need to know will be more able to find it. No need for a new thread for just that?

Also some people may not know what a c-pillar is and to make things harder mine is located under a window also. I don't see why Ford can't post pix for these trucks. It sure would make things easier since you have to pull off or dismantle so many things just to look......?

Thanx for your time.
