E-fans
If you lump cooling into, they both keep the engine within normal operating temperature, this leaves
1. Controller redundancy
FAL has a single controller that operates both fans. it runs both at 60% ot 100% depending on the temperature.
Troyer has 2 controllers
2. Mounting
The FAL is a bit more difficult, and best to remove the radiator to install it.
The Troyer one is through the radiator, quick and easy, solid mounting.
3. Problems : Both have had them, I would say about even up
Comes down to if you think the VSC technology and the mounting is worth the additional money.
Just some thoughts on the topic, I myself had a FAL in my 2001, and dad still has it ( had to replace the VSC, design upgraded on new one, did the fuse recall prior to him getting it ).

Here's my experience with the Troyer efan setup.
1. Controllers are junk. I replaced three within the first 8 months of installing the system. I got sick of it and bought the Flex-a-Lite VSC module and it has worked great from day one.
2. Fans and mounting hardware are very good. Troyer did a nice job on the mounting brackets for the F150 trucks. They did away with the rods that went thorugh the radiator to hold the fans and made two brackets that bolt to the upper and lower ribs of the radiator itself. No need to pull anything out to mount them. Troyer supplied me with the old rods and zip-tie setup but I never used it.
Troyer uses the "S" blade Tornado fans from Derelle so thay are easy to get replacements for when needed.
I would look at the differences in how they mount the fans and ease of installation of the two systems. Troyer may have fixed the controller problems but I would do more research first. The money you save up front may be spent later to fix the problem.

Or, you might try something like AgentOrange did here: http://dygytalworld.ehost-services13...read.php?t=467
Of course you have to have the fan, but it looks good to me!
