OK, here goes if anyone can help me. I have a 99 f-150 4X4 off road, my brakelights dont work, the light over the cab works though, my turn signal for the front driverside doesnt work but clicks very fast, neither does the indicator on the dash work, the parking lights for the driver side works though, as well as the parking lights for the tail lights work, could this be a bad bulb, or another electrical mess on my truck like I have been reading here by some too?????
HOLY!! lol, first of did you check ALL your fuses, use a test light and test for power both sides of the fuse, if there all good, make sure the light sockets are in good shape, no corrosion and that they have not rubbed through around the lense, chances ar it would be one of those 3 problems
yep, that is why I suggested putting the tilt steering wheel all the way up.
MFS - Multi Function switch.
Some have reported that the wiring looses the service loops on them, and it puts pressure on the connector on the bottom of the steering column. This is why some times when the tilt is put all the way up, it removes the pressure on the connector, and things start working. This is just a short cut to removing the steering wheel column cover, and checking the connector.

Brake Lights out HELP!
I am having the same issue that some of you are having with the brake lights on my 2000 F150 4x4. The third (cab) brake light works, all 4 blinkers are operating as they should but my brake lights will not come on. A ford guy that i spoke to stated that the MFS that everyone refers to controls the blinkers also and that the problem may be the brake switch located on the upper part of the pedal. Other threads have stated the opposite, that the MFS is the prob and not the switch. Also, i have taken apart the column to look for loose connections or tabs. The problem is that I do not know what i am looking for so in reality i am just wasting time! Does anyone have a pic of the MFS to help me out? Or should I just spend the $13 and change out the brake switch?

Well, depending on the exact symptoms the others were having, they would be correct ( MFS or Brake Pedal Position switch ).
In your case, the CHMSL works, so the BPP switch has to work.
BPP feeds the CHMSL, the Aftermarket CHMSL ( cap ) and the trailer tow adapter stop lamps as well as in the input to the MFS ( make the stop / turn lamp comb work ).
If you have a working trailer tow adapter, and you put a meter on it, the brake lamps on that probably work correct, even though the truck's don't.
you could have a problem with the MFS, which is the turn signal lever on the steering column ( also the high beams, FTP and the washer / wipers, thus the name mutli function )
If you tried the suggestions above in this thread, and it did not make a difference, time to test the MFS.
Take the steering column back apart, and remove the MFS, and test it

our new plow truck has similar problems...its a 97 5.4. the front fog lights dont work,the drivers side front blinker doesnt work nor does the indicator inside for the left signal. the third brake light DOES works, but the bed brake lights do not work. though the rear turn signals DO work (same bulb as the bed brake light) haha kind of confusing.........and annoying
