Electronic Climate Control Conversion

I have a 2004 F150 SuperCrew FX4 that has the manual climate control. I've been looking into an electronic climate control unit that comes in the Lariat models. I've found a unit that does not have the heated seat control (which is good because I do not have heated seats). I am wondering if this is an easy conversion or am I getting myself into a sticky situation? Obviously, I'd have to get a new trim piece for around the stereo and climate control unit, but I believe starting in 2006 you could get the FX4 with electronic climate control, so I should be able to purchase a matching trim piece. Let me know if you have any info. Thanks in advance!!

Few threads on this topic from a bit ago.

I replaced my '70s coffee table center trip panel with the one form the FX4 Lux package some time ago ( the Lariat interior trim is too much for me ).

Seems like it can be done, just some work to do it.

Good luck
