"BRAKE" light no longer engaging

When I press my emergency brake all the way down, the red "BRAKE" light is no longer lighting up. Is it a sensor or a simple bulb? I hope its a bulb, that way I can fix my odometer cable and replace all those lights with LEDs at the same time.

The red BRAKE light should come during initial bulb prove-out when starting the truck. If not, it is probably the bulb.

If the bulb proves out but does not light when the e-brake is set, then the switch on the e-brake assembly is out of adjustment or has failed.

false alarm. its working now. i took it for a ride and it seems that you have to do a quick full depress for it to light up. it wont light up if you slowly depress it. oh well. thanks

The switch is probably sticky.
