power seat override

It appears my driver seat module is bad. I can't move the seat forward to get the last bolt out. Is there a way to override the motor to move the seat forward???? Any help would be appreciated

im guessing theres some sort of limit switch that stops the motor from moving the seat any farther forward. if you find and somehow bypass that switch it would probably go right off the track.

check your fuse box to see if you blew a fuse, also, look under the seat and make sure all the conectors are connected together. I think there should be 3.

Fuses are good. I have the schematics and the dsm is the only thing in common. I forgot to mention that the pedals don't work either, or the mirrors. All of those as well as the memory functions go through that module. Turn signals in the mirrors and the mirror heaters work. I can get 3 bolts out, but the rear outboard bolt has to be accessed from a hole in the top of the bottom track..... Can't move the seat forward, so I can't get to the module to check it out. Talk about a catch 22. Thanks for the responses so far.

well if you tried all those things, i cant think of a way to override it. My buddy had blown a fuse and was impossible to get the seats out until we replaced the fuse. best of luck to you and if you find a way, let us know.

If you have the wiring schematics all you would have to do it find the wire that supplies +12vdc to drive the motor and move the seat forward and find the motor ground wire, then make a couple jumper wires and either splice them in or push the jumpers in the wire connector, then you attach the other end of the jumpers to a 12vdc source and the seat should move.

I will give it a shot this weekend. There isn't much room to get under the seats to even try to get to the connectors. I was hoping to be able to disconnect the motor perhaps and manually push the seat forward. I was just wondering if anyone has tried it, or if there was a ford tech on the site who could offer some insight. I will let you guys know what happens Saturday afternoon, with pics if possible.
