2005 F 150 Alarm problem

I just bought this truck earlier this week and everything has been great until last night when I turned off the truck and opened the door the horn started going off like I had hit the panic button, when I reinserted the key into the ignition it stopped and didn't do it again the couple times I tried to duplicate the problem.
Also I noticed that the red light on the dash flashes even after I unlock the truck and only goes out after I insert the key. is this normal? I have an owners manual on order but unfortunatley that doesn't help me right now.
Thanks for looking, Dan.

The flashing red light is normal. I'd have to guess you pushed the panic button accidently as you got out of your truck.

I've done this a couple of times - it's pretty easy to do, especially if you carry other things in the same pocket as your truck keys.

I guess I may have hit the panic button by accident as it hasn't done it since.
Thank alot for the replies, I greatly appreciate it

No sweat Dan -

I've learned more than I ever dreamed just by reading and asking questions in this forum. The link from 02SC4x4 to an Owner's Manual is just one example of the valuable input you can get here.

Glad to talk to you!
