License plate bulb replacement for F-150

I bought replacement bulbs for the license plate lights on my 2004 F-150 Heritage. But how do you remove the plastic holders that encase the bulbs? With a screwdriver? Or is there another way they need to be popped out? I don't want to snap them by accident.

Thanks,
Adam

Usually all you do is go from behind, find the socket and wire and rotate it a quarter of a turn and it comes out. Then you should be able to pull the bulb straight out. Turning the casing requires no tools, or shouldn't so try it and see. Your owners manual should say so too. It's gotta be user friendly, most light changes are.

You gotta rotate it counterclockwise.
