Keypad problem

When I press 0 on my keypad to lock the doors, the lights come on, and the light on the keypad comes on, but the doors do not lock. I don't know the code to unlock the doors since i bought the vehicle used and they only had one key and now key fobs for the vehicle. I don't know what could possibly be causing the problem and the chiltons i bought doesn't even mention the door keypad. Help?

Keypad

If you look up under the dash on the drivers side you will find the module for the keypad it has the code printed on a sticker it is right by the parking brake as for locking the doors you push the 7/8 9/0 key together at the same time that locks your doors if you have your owners manual it will tell you how to set a personal code to open your doors but you have to know the factory code to set a new code you can get a key fob on ebay for cheap and programming is easy on and off 8 times doors lock and unlock hit a button on each remote you want to program hope this helps.

The location for the code ( on the RAP/CSM for 99-03 + 04 Heritage & L and on the BSM/VSM for the 04-present ) is depending on which MY truck, and body style you have.

Under the dash as usnzulz posted, is only for the 99-03 body style. If you have a 04+ MY truck, the BSM/VSM is on the rear cab wall in one of 2 places.

As for the single key, you will need a PATS locksmith ( if your truck is a 99 - present ) , or a dealer to get a 2nd key programmed. 2 PATS programmed keys are needed to add any additional keys. Best to have at least 1 new key cut, and have the HEC erased and reprogrammed, so the other key(s) are removed ( procedure for this in the service manual ).

If you are at a dealer for adding a key, you might be able to have them get the code ( if you have a 04+ ) for no extra charge ( maybe, you would need to ask ), so you don't need to remove the rear seat back. Again this is a '04+ MY item, and you do not have any truck information posted, or completed in your profile.

To program RKE remotes purchased somewhere else ( other then the dealer ) :https://www.f150online.com/galleries...028-194194.jpg
Need to program all remotes at the same time. The enetering programming mode erases the previous stored ones.
