battery size?
the battery in my 97 4.6 is dead. parked it few days ago. went to start her up and got nothing. no headlights.NOTHING.i tryed jumping her ,still dead. showd no signs of weakness etc..anyway it was a 540cca. does that sound big enough?? i would think around 600cca for the new battery right?? its 100% stock no custom stereo or extra lights etc..
for a new battery i would go with optima...but if u dont want to spend that much go with an interstate battery...i have one and its great and i have a stereo and other accessories and it holds up good...
just picked up a new battery from napa. 540cca. thats what it called for. i will doublecheck all connections and charging etc.... the alternator looks like it was replaced recently.
when my battery died last month i put in a battery i got from work. Its a Cat battery with 880 CCA. it cost me $70 but that was cost price. I'm sure the public will pay closer to $100.
It was about 1/2" bigger in all directions but still fit in the box.

The towing package included 'heavy-duty' battery.
I'm not sure what size it is but, it's over eight years old and the truck started this morning.
I'll probably buy another just like this one.
