06 screw door code not working

Just bought an 06 with the door button code entry. I had an extra wireless alarm added. The wireless alarm keys work fine but factory code for the door does not work. Can anyone help me please, Thanks

what do you mean? Do you mean that you punch your code in and the alarm goes off? Or the code just doesn't work anymore?

Door entry

Sorry, I mean that I punch in the code that came with the truck, following the instructions and nothing happen. There are also instructions where you can press 78 and 90 at the same time and doors lock. That does not work also. So What my problem is that the door entry does not work at all. Hope you can help, again sorry for not being clear and Thanks.

When you press any button, does the key pad light up ?

I think the interior lamps also light with the first pressing as well.

this will show if there is power to the keypad.

Did the keypad ever work after the after market alarm was installed, or did it just stop working ( ad worked post Alarm installed ).

The reason I ask, is depending on the options, the after market alarm might not work with the door key pad, like the Ford Gold / CA-6xx series , and the installer disconnected it ?

Door code not working

When I bought the truck 2 weeks ago it came brand new off the lot. The dealer had only one key and remote control door opener. The driver door had the key pad already factory installed. We walked thru the truck features and the door pad worked to unlock, lock and set the alarm off. A week later I went back to dealer for the 2nd key and remote access. Tested both remote access door openers and they worked. (did not remember to test door pad). Last weekend tried the door key pad to test as I had almost locked my keys in truck. Using code on card thay came with truck, same as I tested when I bought truck. The pad did not light up nor any lights in truck turn on. Also trying to use pad to lock door or set alarm off will not work. Please assist, Thanks

I would guess that maybe the installer may have shorted something when testing the wires in the kick panel. The keyless brain is on the back wall behind the rear seat and the harness runs in the same wiring of the kick panel.

Have you checked all fuses? With a test light probe the tops of each and every fuse in the fusebox under the hood and the right kick panel. You'll see the fuse has two points that the tedt probe can get a reading on it. Hopefully a fuse is just popped.

Just throwing some things out there.

With no power at the keypad, I would think next thing is to take off the inner door skin, and see if the alarm installer unhooked the keypad.
Maybe it does not work with that brand alarm, and they just disco'd it to remove the problem ?? All the same, seems to me to verify the keypad is hooked up is the first thing ( i.e. try basic things to figure out why it does not have power ).
(edit: pressed enter too quick )

The keypad connector should have illumination from the BSM.
this should be +12V on the Light Blue wire ( Keypad Illumination out ) & the ground ( keypad Illumination ground ) on the brown wire. The black wire in the bundle is for the keypad switch ground ( what is sent to the BSM as the signal when the key is pressed ).
2 conectors :
1. C500 in the door, short pigtail from the keypad
2.C2095 also in the front door ( marked as if equipped, so it might be a mid MY change over )

That is the info from the '06 EVTM.
Which Additional Wireless alarm did you have installed ( did I read that correctly, non Ford Alarm installed ) ?

Door key pad

The alarm is factory installed and so is the key pad on door. When I bought the trcuk the remote alarm button that is on the key ring and the door key pad worked. The dealer only had one key and remote. I went back the next day for the other key and remote. Both remotes worked fine but I forgot to test the key pad access. When I made it home I remembered and tried it, I remembered because I almost locked my keys in the truck. Thanks for any ideas.

When you got the 2nd key, did they take your truck into the shop to program it, or did they find the 2nd key that came with the truck ?
The reason I ask is to program a 2nd key in, with only 1 key requires hooking up the WDS ( IDS if they upgraded already ) to program the key, which means that might have shut the keypad off.

So the Truck has the Ford Gold alarm on it, or are you calling the normal RKE an alarm ?

Sounds like he used the wrong build data for the truck and turned off the keypad at the BSM / VSM.
In 04+ MY trucks, the keypad can be shut off at the BSM, unlike the 99-03 ( and '04 Heritage / L ) where the RAP / CSM is not accessible.
I could see that happening easy, if the wrong build data for the truck was used.

I saw your email where you tried the key and lock button method of turning autolock on.
Did you try the keypad method also ?

What trim level do you have ( looking for if you have a message center ) ?
