DAMN Windshield Washer pump!!!!

Guys,

I am trying to fix my Windshield Washer pump. I have went to AutoZone and bought a new pump (14.99) but still no workey.

I checked the voltage on the pump's power connection. When the pump is being initiated from the control stalk I have 12 Volts. (isn't that what the pump runs on) and when the stalk's not pressed I have 0 Volts. When I have my girlfriend initiate the pump from the cab I don't even feel the pump "spin up" or respond at all. NO WAY that I could have had a bad pump and bought a bad pump too, right?

I even took the washer fluid tube and could blow through it just to make sure it wasn't clogged with anything. It wasn't the easiest to blow through but I could do it.

What the hell?

OH, YEAH,, AND THE FUSE IS GOOD!!

Telling us what year (at LEAST) truck you're talking about would help a LOT.

It depends on HOW you measured that 12V, but yes, that should make the motor run. You should measure from one motor wire to the other WITH the motor connected. If there's 12V, then YES: you bought a bad motor. Stay OUT of the zone. Personally, I like OE parts, so I'd get one from a junkyard. They rarely go bad.

Yeah, you might want to know what year it is.

It's a 2001 F-150 4.6L V8 - 106,000 Miles

I measured the 12 volts with a multimeter on the wiring harness connector for the pump.

It just seems that EVERYTHING has went wrong this month. I suspect the CoilSpring has went out since I all of a sudden have no Horn and no Cruise Control. And within the same 2 week period the Windshield Washer Motor went out.

OK, you checked for power at the pump, and got it, so that means that your switch is working correctly, but did you check the ground path? Could be as simple as running a new ground wire for it...

A spray pump motor & a clock spring hardly qualifies as "EVERYTHING" going wrong... Try getting laid off & totalling your newest vehicle for X-mas.

lol,, yeah the pump and the clock spring isn't bad but coupled with getting my driver side window busted out, new pioneer XM MP3 stereo stolen, windshield getting a running crack in it from a 18-Wheeler thrown rock, Horn not working, Got a toe-in on my alignment, and having an incredible bought of diahrea and taking a massive **** in my own drivers seat a week ago, then it starts to all add up......

LOL, I did a search for this damn problem and I found my own post.

Okay, its a gorgeous day here in Oklahoma and I am tackling this problem (that never got fixed) again.

Ok.. I bought a new MFS and I still can't get the windsheild wiper motor to work

Here is what is killing me.. If i give the washer motor 12 volts (from the battery) it works.

When I push the button on the MFS, I get 12 Volts to the two wires going to the Windsheild wsher motor, but it doesn't do anything.

I just dont get it.

can some one give me a hint..

are there any relays that I need to check or anything?

I have 12 volts to the damn thing..!

Are you measuring this voltage with the motor connected normally? I suspect not, and I suspect you have high resistance in the WCM (#32).
