Does anyone know if it is possible to add the message center to a 05 Expy that didn't come with it? I thought it might be like other stuff and the wiring is already there just need to install the controller and maybe a new instrument cluster.

Not exactly what you're looking for, but check out the ScanGuage II. It plugs into your OBDII plug and can display all kinds of stuff.

on that scan guage..how does that mount to ur truck...?

 

I've got mine where everyone puts their Edge display, held in place with some Velcro so I can take it out or hide it if I want.

Not necesarily the GPS, but the message center telling you fuel mileage, miles to empty, and the other stuff it has. Sounds like it came standard on a lot of the F150's, but on my wife's Expy it has a spot for the buttons to go, so I thought it might be an easy hookup.

Yes it can be done. I've done the mod in my 2007 F150 FX4. Read this thread and it goes into all the details. I purchased my cluster from Mike La Dow at Gaugin Ford 1-800-532-0819 for only $236.00 with programming. Everyone is going to eBay and paying more for used. I'm guessing you will need the Expy Lariat Cluster.
