Looking for info on the GEM (wet?)

I'm having issues with my blower motor, flashers and the light on the passenger air bag shut off switch staying on when the ignition is off.
It comes on and off like its posessed.
I have a water leak on the drivers side, the carpets soaked. I'm not sure where its comming in at.
Can my GEM be the culprit? I'm seeing a lot of posts involving rain , strange electrical problems and the GEM.
Where exactly is it at??

I would say yes, but this is why I asked the question about rain or melting snow in your first thread :

The list of items I thought the blower motor relay was not the correct direction to go in ( that was 1 out of XX problems ).

The GEM is attached to the back of the central junction box ( aka passenger compartment fuse panel or CJB ).

The way to see if it is a corrorded GEM connection to the back of the CJB is to remove the CJB and seperate the GEM from it by undoing the screws.
This is where you would see the green fuzzy stuff at.

One thing to check ( don't think it is this, with the soaked carpet ) is did you check the ground connection at the starter for corrosion ? This can cause strange things also. Just a thought, but I think it is a long short with the symptom and problem description you provided in the 2 threads.

I am not 100% sure, but I do believe that the leak is in the lower left hand corner of the windshield. The "caulk" line is usually a bit thin on the probelm windscreens, if I recall correctly. The only real way to cure it is to pull the trim, cut the windscreen out, and clean both, reseating it back into place correctly.
I have only seen members just get a new windscreen, not reuse the existing one ( time to clean it ??? ).

The leak source and cure I am drawing from memory from some time ago, so take a search on it, to be 100%.

Thanks SSCULLY. I ave removed the trim already. At the very coner edge the seal looks kinda iffy. Late last night I went out to the garage where its drying out and felt the wires behind the fusebox. They wre damp. Is a replacement nessasary of the GEM or is it sometimes possible to clean and replace. Guess the answer to that is look at how bad it is.
I haven't done any auto glass on about 20 years. Guess I can always try.
