wont start

Question wont start

i have a 92 nite edition f 150 5.0 engine it was running fine then it just died one day it will turn over but will not crank i have checked all the fuses in side and out but for some god off all reason it is not getting fire !!!!!!! : what the heck could be wrong some one said the coil that is not it then some one said it be the pick up coil i ve tried the fuel shut off every thing and nothing do you think i nmay need the pick up coil or what

plz help any one im going out of my mind

Well you're lucky it died completely and is not an intermittent run, won't run problem. If you have verified it is an ignition problem(no spark to the plugs). The pick-up coil is a very real possibility. I personally would check the ignition module first. Most parts stores should be able to check it. The pick-up coil would be next. You have to remove and disassemble the distributor to replace the pick-up coil. So I would eliminate the ignition module as a possibility first. It sounds like you have already replaced the coil or that would have been the 2nd thing to check. Good luck.

Buy a Haynes manual (PN 36058 w/light blue cover ~$15) & a cheap digital multimeter ($8-40), and perform the procedure in Ch.5 Sec.5 on p.5-5.
