Exclamation lighted brake/accelerator pedal

i've got a 1999 f150 and i recently purchased aftermarket pedals that have LED lights embedded in them. the problem is that they need to be clipped in with a switchable light source (brake lights, parking lights, etc) and i can't find a wiring diagram or anything to help me double check which wire i should be tapping into under the dash...any help?

take the headlight switch out and tap into pretty much any one of those wires. check the load that the pedals are pulling though.

Just when you hook your peddles up to the head light switch I personally made sure it was a wire that turned off when you turned off your headlights/parking lights...

Exclamation problem #2

well i tried the pulling the switch out so i could tap into the wire up top but my switch apparently doesn't have the clips on the back that make it easily removable...i tired finding some sort of heat-induction meter so i could just see wich wires were hot when only those circuits are on but such a tool is not readily available...i was looking for an alternative to taking out the whole panel section of my dash that has the headlight switch in it as a unit....any more suggestions?

your headlight switch does in fact come out.... if you pull on the left side of the dash ... right next to the headlight panel.. and look in with a flashlight youll see about right in the middle a wedge shaped piece of plastic holding it in.. if you take a screwdriver and push that spring loaded piece in .. it will pop the switch out of its place... then i would recomend tapping into your running lights... good luck.. let me know if you need a picture.. ill send one.. ive done this plenty of times to my 99..

should be the brown wire that you will be tapping into. if not that one then the yellow wire will work. i think both will work actually. someone correct me if im wrong.

FedEx pilots directions on taking out the headlamp switch in his 1997. Shows the clip on the side, and the correct way to remove the headlamp switch, without bending dash panels :
http://www.geocities.com/tedoca/headlight.html

The Yellow wire is switching ground ( via the fog lamp switch ) to the fog lamp relay, not the same as the brown.

If you look up under the dash, you might be able to get acces to the wirign harness for the headlamp switch, to tap into the brown wire, without removing it.
