HID Are working Great in my Projectors

Sorry for the late post. It's been over a month now since I installed my HID into my projectors I was a bit confused and nobody really has an answer on here so I thought I'd let who ever was interested know what I did.

SO the problem I had was the after market projector lights go from the factory 9007 to a H3 which control my DRL and Headlight and a second bulb (forget the size) which controls the Highbeams.

I wasn't sure what HID kit to get.

I ended Up just getting a H3 8000K HID Kit which I just spliced into the projector housing. Everything works great I just need to remove the resistor for my DRL because only one side lights up when it's just DRL so I just turn the head lights on and it's all good.

If anyone has any questions just let me know

Cheers,

it's a 2 ballast setup only my low beams are HID. I bought the kit off ebay for $129+shipping. BE careful and make sure you don't get any of the made in China one the one I got was from germany it's really good the Japan ones are great aswell. I'm going to put hid in my fog lights as well soon

How is the beam pattern with those projectors? I have the exact same headlights as you but was told many times to replace the projector with an actual hid projector but that costs $$$ and time. I am interested in getting a hid kit but 4300K or 5000k instead of 8000k. I also have the same problem with DRL's but can't you just get around that by pulling the fuse that controls the DRL's? I am currently running my headlights without DRL's by just pulling the fuse under the hood and it seems to work fine. I am just curious if this would still be the case once I install Hid.

The beam pattern to me is fine I do get a few people Flashing their high beams at me, but that also happens in my navigator which has stock HID.

I never thought about removing the fuse. Which fuse is for the DRL under the hood I'll try it and let you know how it works..

If you take a look at my gallery you notice how my driving lights look different the beam is more direct I guess you could say makes night time driving a lot easier.

H.I.D or high intensity discharge bulbs are glass filled unlike your traditional bulbs which has a filment in it. HID bulbs are connected to a Ballast which is like the igniter. So when you turn on your headlight it makes the ballast spark which ignites the gasses in the HID bulb. Lower wattage, less head longer life much brighter.

Hope this helps

which bulb was it for you to convert your projector to hid?

also, can you clarify what you mean by splicing into the housing?

I have the same question. Was it h3 or h3c? I have modifies quite a few h3 projectors and a standard h3 HID bulb is generally WAY to long to fit in the housing....What did you use, and do you have pictures of the housing of the projector?
