Factory trailer wiring harness

Would there be any reason for just the right stop and turn signal to work and not anything else? Everything was working fine at the beginning of summer. I traced wiring all the way along frame to under drivers seat and all looks good. Thanks in advance for all help

as vigness posted, you have fuses F36 for the right side, and F42 for the left side, and the MFS.

When you say for just the right stop and turn signal to work and not anything else? is this when you hook the trailer up, or did you use a test lamp on the 7 pin / 4 pin itself to check it. That leads to another question, is the problem with the 4 pin or the 7 pin, or both ?

If you have long enough probes on your meter, you can test from the back of the 7 Pin adapter ( think you can still do that on the '04+ )

Let us know which ( or if both ) plug you are having a problem(s) with, and where you are testing it from. Following the wires should not be needed, unless you did a serious high center in the mud, and really drug it hard getting it out.

i agree with 02SC4x4, corrosion, i put a lighted hitch cover on and everything worked except the running light, checked the plug and 1 of the 4 connectors was just dust. had to cut out the plug on the truck and replace it and it works fine.

Take a look at the sticky threads in the Towing & Hauling forum. This lists all the directions for the factory tow install. Also, you can drop me an email via my profile, and I can email you the PDF of the '01 instructions.

The other thread in the towing section to look at for the harness part numbers :

The topic is for an '01, but the last post in the thread has the P/N that a member used on his '01
