Aurometer Dash Replacement

Has anyone installed this item?

http://www.autometer.com/cat_gaugede...gid=3379&sid=5

I know the stock guages are little better than idiot lights, but this looks pretty neat! What I was wondering if it used the stock senders and was a plug in item. I seen prices on it around $525.

It is plug-and-play using the existing sensors. I have one on order and will post an opinion once installed.

Great! If it turns out good I will do one myself. Is this item for 1997 and later? Or just the 2004 and later?

Never mind. Just seen what truck you have. Duhhhhh BTW what did you get it ofr cost wise?

It should be arriving today and I got it off eBay new for less than $238 to my door. Do a search on eBay - there are a couple on there.

Hard to say. I only ran the truck enough to make sure they worked. After running up and down the road a bit I should know more.

I won one the other night. Waiting for it to come in and also ordered a Trans Temp Temp. Am looking for a Steering Pod to install it in and do it all at once.

I'm waiting for the pics also.

I figure the electric oil in the cluster will be good enough for me, but I am ordering the steering pod so everything will be right there. I had a pillar pod with my last truck and found myself always looking over there.

Maybe FIRE604 can answer one question I have though. The Odometer is in the cluster I believe. Does it set back to zero? Is there a way to get the mileage put in there. (I would not think there is or every used car dealer out there would be using it! )

from what i got that it retains what your mileage is now so it makes me think that the computer tells the cluster how many miles are on the truck??

I don't understand how this can be plug and play but other Ford clusters (FX4, Lariat, King Ranch) have to be programed to work in a different trim level truck.
