Seat Belt Alarm

What is the best way to disarm the seat belt alarm in an '05 SCREW? Every Ford I've owned in the past you could just push the button on the fastener and the alarm would go off until the next time you started the vehicle. With my '05 the thing is too smart and comes right back on again. It gets real annoying traveling the back roads/off road at 2 MPH listening to the darn alarm going off every 30 seconds.

Any suggestions other than crawling under the dash to find the speaker and cutting the wire?

it tells how to do it in the manual. I'm not sure but I think you have to turn key on and wait until the seat belt light goes off and then plug/unplug the seatbelt 7 times within one minute and the seatbelt light should come back on. then you plug/unplug the seat belt one more time within 10 seconds after the seatbelt light comes on and it should disable the alarm. you have to do the same thing on the passenger side. I think thats right but I'd check in the manual just in case.

I have the same problem. So in a couple of weeks I'm gonna be hitting the local junkyard circuit looking for the belt half of the latch and I'm going to cut the belt off and I'll just use that to shut the beeping up.

Can't you just unplug it under the drivers seat?

Okay, opened my '05 manual to page 122 and followed the instructions. Worked like a charm, learned my lesson for next time. Thanks!
