Key in Ignition bell won't turn off

I have a 2006 F150 and when I stop the vehicle and take the key out of the ignition the bell does not go off. It acts as if the key is still in the ignition and is pretty annoying. I unhooked the battery and that did not help. Any ideas. I checked all of my lights and they are all off. It does not seem to be running the battery down, but I do not want to take the chance.

Since it's an 06 it should still be under warranty. Your dealer should handle this.

FWIW, it's a small switch mechanism on the bottom of the steering column, usually. Possibly a GEM module issue.
