Question projection headlights

k im gonna sound dum on this one. but i was always told there are no dum questions...

i bought projection headlights and i want to know which ones are the projections. the ones that are like normal ones (where you can see the bulb) or the ones with the big plastic dome over the bulb?
also wich ones should be the high beams when i plugged them in the high beams were the one with the dome on them. but my lights seem brighter on low beam now and people only flash me on low beam so i think im gonna switch them around.

Hi, the projectors are the ones with the glass domes over the bulb (you cant see the bulb at all), these are your normal driving lights. The part of the headlight where you can see the bulb should be your high beams. That is how it's set up on mine. Sounds like you may have your wiring backwards.

Here's a pic of my left headlight. It's always easier to explain somethin with a pic, lol.

On this type of headlamp, is that a 90 mm module in there ?

Do the modules seem like they are removalable ?

I am asking, to see if these could be converted with a Hella HID 90 mm module.

Thanks

Hi, I bought mine off of ebay. I have also seen them for sale in the "Truckin" magazine. I do have the 90 mm modules in mine However, on the back of the headlight there are three screws that hold the projector in place. They do come out easily enough. I would take a pic of the back of the headlight to show you but there to much of a pain in the a$$ to re-aim them. I am planning to replace the projectors with audi hid projectors sometime down the road but for now they work great as they are. Really light up the road nicely compared to the stockers and have a sweet cutoff line. I even installed a pair of projector foglights to match the headlights and together they do an excellent job of lighting up the road.

Rob,

Thanks for the info. The 90mm modules I can get have 4 screws on them, have not seen any of the Audi modules ( thought they were Hellas ).

The ones that I have seen ( both 90mm and 50 mm ) :

Thanks again for the info, I'll keep an eye out for the 3 bolt modules, and if they make these for the 04+ body styles.

Mine use the regular headlight bulbs with the factory installed headlight switch. Low beam and high beam functions. It also has a built in projector light on a separate switch, independent from the headlights. I bought them on Ebay.
