05 SCREW headlight issues.

No problem with the interuption. Did the truck look as if it had Factory fog lamps at one time ? ( opening in the lower valence, not the plastic fillers ) and are there 2 pin connectors behind the bumper ?
Here is the wiring diagram for the '99 Fog lamps.
You may or may not have the harness in the truck, so the bulk of the work might need to be done under the dash.
I think the '99 and the '97 switches work the same ( change in the switch function in '00 ) so as long as the PO put in a '99 switch, you could use this diagram for adding in the accy.

The '99 and older switch connects pin 4 ( headlamp switch ) ground to pin 3, yellow wire. If you have a relay to power the strobe controller, you would hook up the power side of the coil to a fused always on connecton, and this would switch the ground side.
If the PO put in a '00 and newer switch, this is the diagram:

The '00 and newer switch connects pin 2 ( headlamp switch ) What would be power from the White with a Black stripe wire to pin 5, yellow wire.
If you have a relay to power the strobe controller, you would hook up the power side of the coil to the yellow wire and the White w/ Black stripe wire would be the power for the switch to the coil.
Also if you look up the fog light switch mod, FEDEX pilot posted how to cut a ramp into the plastic of the switch so the fog lamp switch will pull on in the parking lamp position of the switch.

I'm an idiot!!!It was the bulbs!I'm so sorry you went through all the trouble to help me Steve.Do you know what would cause both bulbs to go out?I put the factory bulbs in and everything seems to be fine.I'm now going outy to reinstall the headlights so hopefully my problem is solved and I will order new bulbs.Any suggestions on bulbs?
Thanks! I'm gonna go outside and yank my light switch out and see if I can figure out how to wire it up. I thought it would be cool if the strobes were controlled by the headlight switch instead of an ugly toggle.

If I had actualy comprehended your first post in the thread, I might have taken a different direction. I only posted it about 4 times, about how the fog lamp relay coil gets ground via the high beams :o You would think that would cause me to check / ask sooner.
Don't know what would cause both L & R high beams to go out at the same time. That is really strange, you know what usually happens, one goes out, take the trip to the Auto store, they only have one, get it and the next night ( usually SUN night about 9:30 pm ) the other one goes out
as far as bulbs, I am still running the stock bulbs. I tried the Hoen bulbs, and they were the same Blue looking HID wana-bes. Until someone comes up with something decient for them, I am just sticking with the stock bulbs.
Good luck finding some new bulbs, again, no problem with the help, that is why everyone hangs out here.

Could be done, but it would require moving some of the factory wiring out of the Central Junction box ( CJB ) .
You would need some male terminal ends in both regular and mini size, and some 14 AWG wire.
Up for it ???
Quick summary, remove the fog lamp relay, and reuse pins 2-3-5, 1:1 wired back into the CJB, and rather then wiring pin 1 back into the CJB, you would run that to ground, so the fog lamp relay coil always had ground on it, rather then finding it via the High beam elemets ( would have made this thread tons shorter
). This would be like a relay fed through the face of the CJB, rather then using the pins in the CJB.
Let me know if that makes sense, else I can try a mock up on my '06 later tonight, and take a picture of it ( might even turn it on and make sure it works first ).
Take a look at the 2005 EVTM 86-1.JPEG picture to see what I am talking about. Basically side steps the pin 1 side of the Fog Lamp relay coil to the output of the high beam relay N.C. contacts. That is what is shutting off the fog lamps, when the high beams come on.
