battery is fine
battery is fine.... today i called road side to pick up truck, i had the emergency brake on so i released it... i gave it a last shot to try to turn on the truck... guess what... it turned on............
well it turns on but everything else is still wrong... pluse the truck turned off after drivng it for a while...it seemed as it raned out of gas, so i when to gas station and dumpped some gas on the truck and message board still showed "low fuel"...hum...well not it wont start again...dealership thinks the fuse box might be bad. thanks for the suggestion

I'm having a similar problem with my 2004. Last week it wouldn't start after sitting for 4 hours. Not even enough juice to use keyless entry. Took it to the dealer and they said the battery was fine and the electrical system checked out. Well, one week later, I left work last night and no battery again. I didn't leave any dome lights on, etc.. As soon as I jumped it, it was fine. I am getting moisture in the backup lights - Ford says this is not a problem...??? It's in the shop now. If anyone has any insight, it would be greatly appreciated.
There's a TSB for the moisture in the taillights. Simple fix. The dealership should take care of it. It didn't cause your no-start problem.
Your problem sounds like aeither a bad connection on the battery, bad ground connection to the frame, or a bad power-saver relay that's not waking up when it's supposed to. A few minutes with a DMM when it won't start should have the problem narrowed down pretty quick.
Intermittent gremlins like that are difficult to troubleshoot, especially via the 'net.

i called the dealership today and they said that the fuse box that they ordered to replace the one that is on right now was defective so they have to order another
any one other have any ideas to what it might be? does it sound like they are right?

yea sounds like a bad lead! make a mixture of 1/3 baking soda and 2/3 water and pour over battery leads, or steel wire brush to clean leads, I had the same prob on my old truck and this worked great!!

got my truck back... well it turned out to be a grey plug that is by the drivers kik panel below the green one, it was slightly unpluged..... dealer charged ford warranty almost 1000 dollars for that....what a rip off
HMMMM....I have had problems with my truck not starting and its extremely intermittent. I wonder if that could be the problem, the grey plug. Also, there are times that I can't arm my alarm but I'm not sure if thats related to the battery in my truck or the battery in my fob. Question for those with remote start with an '04 and up SCREW, did you have to have a key hidden in the truck so the alarm picks up electronic key signal or did you get the right alarm? Did that make sense? Sorry a little off topic.
