Airbag code 49

Just did the leather seat changeover and I'm getting an airbag light. When I turn the truck on I get 4 blinks then 9 blinks. Does this over and over unless you put on the seatbelt, then it's on constant. Any ideas? thanks!!

You haven't given much info what year and model if you replaced seats or just covers etc. but if you installed used seats from a salvage yard I would say that you have a problem wit one of the pretenisoners in the seat belt when the air bag goes off it sends a signal to the belt system (in a late model truck) to lock up and tension the seat belt to keep you a safe distance from the air bag. You can unhook the battery for 5 minutes or so and see if this clears it if not you may have to install youre seat belts, you should disconnect the battery when working on this stuff.

It doesn't help us one bit not knowing what we're working on. 49 should be a driver's seat position code, but since I ain't got a clue what truck this is, use that at your own risk.

Check the wiring to the seat position sensor on the driver's seat track, be sure it's connected and the wiring isn't pinched on the track anywhere.

Quintin,

Got it! Thanks, you were correct on the seat position sensor. I'm just an idiot, completely overlooked the connection the first 2 times I checked. Thanks again!!
