High beam Headlights

Both of my High beams are out. When I go to turn them on from Low beam to High beam both of them seem to turn off. I don't even get the light on the dash to go on.Has anyone seen this problem before? Any help would be appreciated.

The low beams shut off when the high beams go on, so that is normal operation.

Looking at the description of the problem you are having, I would have to say the multifunction switch is dirty / faulty.

The reason I say this is that both high beams go out, which could be both fuses are blow for the high beams. 10A fuse in position 26 in the central junction box is the right headlamp, and the 20A fuse in position 16 is the left headlamp, and the source for the highbeam indicator on the dash.

As long as you have tested both bubs to make sure the high beam element is still intact, and checked both fuses for the high beams, then the next logical step is to either clean or replace the multifunction switch ( aka the turn signal, in case you have not seen it refered to as that..sorry if that is too basic ).

Let us know what is up with it, so we can get you taken care of.

Good luck.

A new Multifunction switch is in the $ 100.0 - $ 125.00 range.

When you read through the posts on cleaning the MFS, they note you need to be careful with the clips that hold it together , and the springs in it. It is one of those things that can be time consuming cleaning out the crapped up grease, and replacing it with bulb grease. It is a plug and play thing with a new switch.

Good luck.
