Resurrection of a dead thread....

Robadele,

I've been looking at deciding on installing either the older Gold System or the new PowerCode system in my 2003 SCrew. I haven't done anything other than some basic research and wanted to read the install instructions before I decide on purchasing either the Remote Start/RKLE/Security package or just get the Security add-on (what I'm really interested in). I saw that you had the installation instructions on CD and was wondering what would it take for you to share the info

Would via email suffice or could I hand over a few bones and get you to mail me a copy?

Thanks,
Tony

EDIT: Nevermind, I got it off of 1-800-FORD-KEY

Hey Guys,

I'm looking for install instructions for PowerCode system 2W7Z-19G367-AA. I try to purchase installation instructions on CD, Ford Part# 2W7Z-16A91-AA. Ford dealer said that this CD is no longer available for ordering. I would really appreciate, if someone could make me a copy or e-mail me the pdf file. . I will pay whatever it cost.
Thanks for responding, you can e-mail me at sandevn@adelphia.net

Thanks again,
Nick

I would try what Tony did, call 1-800-Ford-Key and use the fax back option to fax the installion instructions to yourself.

Once you get into the fax back menu, one of the options will be to fax a index of all the documents and code numbers.

Once you have this index, you can then call the number back and have up to 3 documents per call faxed to you. If you need more than 3, you just have to call back. The entire system is automated.

TonyPTX,

Tank you for the PowerCode instructions. Yes, I want to install it on my 1994 Mercury Topaz GS. I spend a lot of time searching web for information about Power Code alarms without success. F150online Forum was the only place I found that someone has information - CD with install instructions. That is why I posted my ask for help. I used 1-800-Ford-Key and received the vehicle specific wiring diagrams for my Mercury.

Thanks,
Nick

I have installed my system in my 2003 F150 Supercrew and can't get a tach signal. Everytime I hit the starter the horn chirps 4 times.

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Kevin

I have the 2W7Z-19G364-AA Remote start, keyless entry, alarm system with key system, 1L3Z-19G365-AB.

I have obtained the Ford Key fax back wiring diagram and compared that to the one I used to connect it and all looks connected correctly. All wire connections are soldered.

I did struggle to find the driver door unlock motor wire (red/orange). It looks very similar to a Red/yellow wire.(small diameter wire)

I have the tach wire connected to the ignition coil (White/pink) wire.

When the door lock button is pushed, all doors lock, horn honks once LED is solid and about 10 seconds later the horn honks again and LED blinks every 4 seconds.

When the start buttons are pressed, the horn honks 4 times and does nothing.

Any thoughts?

Thank you for any help

Kevin

Kev,

According to the PowerCode Troubleshooting, you need to have your system "learn" or "re-learn" the tach signal.

I'm guessing you followed the directions and had the system "learn" your tach signal right? (Step 4 of the Programing Instructions) If your system will not learn the tach signal:
  • Check tach signal at module w/AC meter.
  • Check A-7 pink wire connection make sure that 12V doesn't drop out during starter crank.
  • Check B-7 brake wire and A-19 hood wire.
  • Make sure that you are in the correct step in the correct option bank for your type of system.

Now I don't know if this is the case or not, but the wiring diagrams show the tach wire (violet/white) hooked up to the tan wire on the fuel injector. Does hooking it up to the white/pink on the coil pack provide the same function?

As another mode of diagnostics, Option Bank 3 (6 chirps), Setting #1, is a Tach diagnostic mode. Setting this to ON will IGNORE the tach signal and cranks starter one time for one second (as a diagnostics tool ONLY). Having this enabled will help troubleshoot the tach signal wire. Also having this enabled will disable the rev and stall detection so you have been WARNED!!

Tony,

Thanks for the ideas.

I just went out and tried that option and still no go.

I originally had the tach wire connected to the injector, the FordKey wire diagram said to also try coil wire. Still not working.

I am goint to have to go through each one again and see if something is wrong.

The instructions I used were fromwww.gemsen.com/ford

hopefully I can find the error somewhere.

Thanks again

Kevin

Well hell, if the tach diagnostic mode doesn't do anything, then I don't know what to tell ya. You might have some luck calling Code Alarm directly and asking to speak w/ one of their techs. Make sure you ask to talk to the Ford guy. I remember getting the phone number off of Code's website.

I guess you could also just bring it in to a place that installs these things like a local car audio shop and ask their advice (maybe one who installs Code Alarm Systems to start). Most of the times, these guys/gals are pretty cool and will give you some pointers to check for free. Now when they have to start to get their hands dirty.....

Good Luck,
Tony

The key programming you mention, is this sinilar to the part you are referring to?
Securilock

I programmed the remotes as the instructions said to.

To program the PATS keys, you have to be able to activate the remote start process, which at this point I can't.

I am getting more confused, I am going to read through the install directions from top to bottom again.

What instructions besides the ones I used are available?

Thanks

Kevin
