Auto-lamps on 99 Lariat

I have Auto-lamps on my 99 Lariat. The lights come on just fine when it gets dark outside. The problem Im having is that they do not want to trun off. I waited one time for almost 20min then they went off. I have the adjustment screw on the controller that allows you to shorten or lengthen the ammount of time the lamp remain lit after shutting off the truck and have tried to adjust it but it still stays on for over 15 min. Thanks for any help.

I think one of your doors is open or for some reason it thinks they are, so they are staying on and then the battery protection is kicking in and turning them off.

Humm I will check but I believe that the interior lights would be on too. But they go off. I never knew that there was a protection system for the battery thats good to know. Does it just shut everything down when it starts to die?? Thanks for your input.

Maybe the headlight timer is going bad. It sounds like the photo cell is working. That would be my 1st guess.

Does anyone know where and what the headlight timer is. How can I replace or fix it.?? Thanks once again edgex. Would it be part of the light switch in the 99??

I'm not to sure. If I had to guess (and I know that doesn't help you) I would think that it might be a seperate relay timer. When mine kick off I can hear a loud CLICK under the center of the dash.

OK I just read another post and just maybe it IS in the switch
