ABS/E-Brake Dash Lights
#2
The Haynes manual says:
If the ABS light comes on and stays on make sure the parking brake is off and,
1)Make sure brakes, calipers, and cylinders are in good condition
2)Check connections at control unit
3)Check fuses
4)Check BOO Switch (Brake On/Off).
The BOO switch is located at the top of the pedal, and should have voltage when checked with a 12V tester.

As flafonman said, Check the brake pedal switch. While the pedal is released you should have voltage on only one side. If you have voltage on both sides and the pedal isn't depressed, then you got a bad switch.
Do the brake lights (back of truck) stay on continuously?
If so, then I would definately suspect the BOO switch.
Good Luck!!

Thanks for the quick reply guys,
No, my brake lights arent on, but I will check the BOO switch as you suggested. I have depressed and released the parking brake many times, to be sure its been released. My brakes are working fine. The parking brake holds, and the brakes are working fine. I've been driving around with the lights on(Dash Lights) for several days now.
Any Ideas?

My van did the same thing two different times, the light went out when it rained the first time. The next time I had problem it would "go away" when cold or rainy. I cleaned the speed sensor connection at the rear differential. There are two clips that hold the harness to the speed sensor, one you can see and one on top. They are fragile!! The easiest way to disengage both of them is to use two tooth-picks to hold each one open. Pull the wire harness away from the speed sensor and clean with alcohol or TV tuner cleaner. Use dieelectric grease on the fitting before reinstalling. If you still have problems and it goes away when it rains or is cold the speed sensor is probably going bad.
