Re-Programmed! -- HELP
I let a friend test drive my new '04 F250 in trying to convince him not to get a Toyota.
After the ride, he sat in my driveway trying to figure out what all the switches and controls did. He flipped the switch back and forth to fog lights, interior lights, wipers, headlights, etc., etc.
He was trying to figure out how Ford sets things up as he's been familiar only with Chevy (gag-me-with-a-spoon) and Toyota.
Somehow, he managed to hit the sequence to reprogram my interior dome light. Now, it comes on for a 20 second delay when the ignition switch is turned off! (Door not opened yet.)
The dealer hasn't a clue on what to do to get back to normal.
It's not covered in the owners manual.
Anyone else had this problem or heard about it?
What can be done?

Before you try this, be advised that I am just guessing....
Have you tried disconnecting your battery completely and then reconnecting it? Computer systems sometimes have default settings that they fall back to after a power loss.
You will have to follow the procedures in your owners manual that deal with 'retraining' your vehicle. If you have any other accessories with a 'memory', they may have to be retrained as well.

Yes, I tried disconnecting the battery and left it disconnected for about 10 minutes. No luck.
All it did was reset my clock to 00:00.
The dealer tells me that they can plug in a computer to reset everything but I haven't had a chance to take it in yet.

I've been over the owner's manual with a fine tooth comb but it doesn't mention this.
It does describe how to reprogram the interior light so that it doesn't come on when the door is open. However, the directions given do not apply as the switch on my interior light does not work as described.
