Question "Auto down" windows for passenger side

Just wondered if anyone have ever tried to replace the switch for the passenger window (on the drivers side) with a drivers side switch with the "auto" or "one-touch down" feature. Not exactly a show-stopping mod or anything, but I thought it would be convenient, as long as it isn't too involved or costly. If anyone has done this, please post details on "how you done it" and whether it was too much of a P.I.T.A. to make it worth while.

Thanks.

Oh yeah, I'm considering this for a '00 XLT Supercab.

yeah, I have wanted this too but never thought about it too much. i can't imagine it would take more than 10 bucks, it would just be a switch that keeps it going once you press it. I think i'll open up my doors tomorrow and check it out, I'm sure I can find the peice thats different (or atleast look for it online) and try it out.

ofcourse, if anyone else has already done it please save my the time

Hey guys - this cannot be done with the factory equipment (at least on my truck) - if you pull off the panel on the driver's side door with the switches and look at the back side, you will see that all the switches are connected together - they are not individual switches. I wanted to change out all the switches on the driver's side to the auto-down switch.

If you have an alarm installed or are planning to install one it is possible. I have this on my truck, one touch UP and DOWN for both windows, plus I can roll the windows down with the key fob, and they roll back up when it's armed... Just a window control module. Mine happens to be DEI, but I think most alarm manufactueres have something similar...

Just curious though if someone can help me ou?. I want to know if the actual black rocker part of the switch is just a cover? I want to know if I can replace the passenger side rocker with a driver's side one that says AUTO on it...

I had planned on getting a new alarm sooner or later... can the window module be used without an alarm?

No you have to have the alarm "brain" to control it...

I would recommend anything by DEI. I have the Avistart 3300 with window module and proximity sensor...
