I wouldn't touch anything like that sold for an Ecoboost unless it's sold and tuned by one of the highly regarded EB specialists - such as Livernois. I also wouldn't do ANY performance mods until you are off powertrain warranty.

Looking at the video, it seems to increase the boost pressure. I don't see how it can do that without making the blower work harder. Possibly, this could cause it to suffer increased wear?

I don't know, of course, and am just guessing. But, it seems to work by modifying the inputs/outputs of the ECM, rather than changing the programming of the ECM, so there's no "footprint" in the ECM. Looking at the various parts of it, I can't totally agree that it is "easy to remove" - looks to me like it will take some time to get everything out, especially that component that goes below the air filter. You'd need to "unstick" it.

I agree with the others regarding this thing, and would not like to be the one to be the first tester.
