Edge Evo hurt tranny?

I've had my Edge Evo for about 10k miles now. Last week I had to replace the torque converter in my transmission. The guy said everything else looked fine.

He also said that he doesn't think my Evo is to blame for the torque converter failing (my truck has 140k on it). I just wanted to ask you guys for a second opinion. I want to make sure it's okay to keep running it because tranny fixes aren't cheap.

A little info, the truck is my DD, I use the canned setting 2 (tow tune), I rarely tow anything heavy, and I'm not out trying to beat any 0-60 records.

Thoughts? Thanks!

EVO user here albeit loaded with PHP custom tunes.

If anything the tuner lengthens tranny life with less clutch slippage.

I put over 100,000 on my 05 with first the Edge canned tunes, then PHP custom tune and when I sold the truck with 135,000, the tranny was still going great.

when you say that do you mean by shortening the shift time or increasing shift firmness?

Firmer shifts. Lessens the time the clutches slip therefore increasing their lifespan.

The factory sets up the clutch disks to slip a little as so many people don't want to feel the shift. When you take some of the slippage out, firm up the shifts, it reduces heat and wear on the clutch pack.

awesome, thanks for the replies guys.
I actually think I've read that before that these trucks are better off shifting firmer than they do from the factory. I know I've had people comment on the firm shifts when riding with me before.
