get Bill or download update?

I have the Edge evolution and Im sure I need an update. Ive had a wierd shudder in my transmissioin and I have posted about it in the past but I could never figure it out. Im really suspect of the programmer though.

I was wondering, should I send it to Bill at PHP or just download the updates?

Its been a few years, but the last time I did an update, I had some issues and now Im kinda reluctant.

thanks for your input!

If it's an Edge running canned tunes, an update shouldn't hurt and may fix things. And, I'm understanding the shudder does not occur if you set the truck back to stock?

A LONG time ago (about 4 years I think) there was a transmission shudder problem that was fixed with an update, so trying this may help. If it doesn't then I WOULD try to get in touch with Bill.

Alright, thanks. I have not been around much cause Im busy with school and I picked up a 98 mustang as a daily driver. This makes it easy not to pay attention to my truck. Im a bad owner!

Is the download as easy as following the edge directions or is there a link on the forums that makes it easier?

I don't have an answer to this. Just try what Edge says. And, if it's a no-tuned Edge programmer, you should certainly try talking to Edge tech support before you do anything else. (I should have given you that advice in my first post, sorry!)

Like Jack said, if it is a programmer without custom tunes, just plug it in and do the updates.

I was looking at all of the directions and other stuff, and it all seems real confusing with lots of room for error.

Considering all the things I've done to my truck it might be best to get custom tunes anyway .

Thanks again
