Superchips VIN Locked

I recently bought a Superchips Flashpaq 1815 off ebay. Opened it up and plugged it in and it says vin locked. The seller did give me my money back but will Superchips unlock it or what? How much does it cost? Thanks

Thats sounds about right.

All this could have been easily avoided if the seller would have simply returned it back to stock by uninstalling the programmer from his truck before putting it on Ebay.

That really depends on how much you paid for your Flashpaq. A new one can be purchased for $300-350.
So if you come out less than that, you did ok.

I've had an 1815 for years on my F150. I really like it. There are many tunes loaded in it along with datalogging features.

You should go to www.superchips.com and click on the forums, then register. From there, send Ron from superchips a PM or post a thread as you did here.
He is a great help over there!

Good Luck

I have a superchips in my 02 5.4 and it was a great addition. Throttle response is much better, about 20 more hp, and slight improvement in gas mileage.

You may have a stolen unit.

Because canned tunes do the job fine for a lot of them.

I recently bought a 1715 to replace one that was stolen but the one I bought was VIN locked as well. I contacted Superchips & found out they can no longer unlock those older units. The equipment they used on them died about a year ago. I was able to return the unit I bought & I have a new 1865 coming now. Looking forward to seeing what improvements it gives me.
