Edge cs trouble

i was having trouble with my old edge evo so edge sent me a cs and had to reflash my PCM. I took the cs out a month ago to upgrade to a gryphon but wasn't able to do so because I could not find a hex number bc edge had reflashed the PCM. I got busy and forgot about it till this weekend when I tried to hook it up and put it on level 3. The cs however would not let me do so. It said error CNAB1R3 and that it was not the original PCM and would not let me change levels. It stays on stock level and will not change or show me a hex code. My question is how do I correct this, I want level three till I can get my tune from php. And I'll need a hex code for that, so I guess I have to find one

Call Edge tech support. PHP will not be able to do anything for you until you get the Edge working on your truck.

Edge does not "reflash" the PCM, as you put it. Programming with a CS does not change the hex code. That's something a dealer does.

To find your "hex" code, you use the menu option: [HELP]►[VEHICLE INFO]. The code is the entry just below the VIN, which is confusingly titled "CalibrationECM". It's a 7-character alpha-numeric code, that looks a lot like the "CNAB1R3" error you said you had, which I've never heard of.

No I mailed my PCM to edge and they told me they had to flash, Im quite certain that was the term, the PCM. So now when I go into the menu to get the hex code the edge says it's not the stock PCM and can not give me the hex code. I've been in the manual and all thru the menu with no luck.

I know I need to get it operating properly before I upgrade to gryphon, that's what I'm trying to do but getting a hold of edge has not worked out for me. Their voicemail box has been full and no phones allowed at work for me so i was hopin someone here could help me out. Email time I guess

OK, if you sent your PCM to Edge, they could have done anything to it. But, they also should be able to make it so that your CS communicates with it.

Try something new: Start Fusion on your PC and connect the CS to it using the USB cord. Possibly, a firmware update will be applied that will allow your CS to recognize your truck.

I think the way Fusion works. it is not clear when it is finished. Edge tried to make Fusion "Idiot proof", so you really have no control over what it does, and they reduced the feedback to the user in the process. I think they need to revisit their user interface just a bit.

I'm glad the Fusion update worked for you. Wish everything was this easy. Now, a word of advice: don't keep trying to update it. Unless something stops working, it's better to leave things alone. Another update could easily break it again.

I hear that. I don't plan on touching it till I contact bill and get some custom tunes... The guy at edge said that fusion recognizes what ever problem or code the programmer throws then corrects the problem while updating, I did get a hold of someone...
