Run it for 500 miles. The PCM needs to learn the new program. Run the Superchip that long too.

Cool deal Ken! Good job. this will help out a lot. V10 man is right, along with making sure you have a good tank of 92+ octane in there run the truck 500 miles. Itll take that long for it to really kick in. Make sure you reset the computer also, Ive done this before and its amazing the difference. People have said the same "POS" about the superchips also. I think it may be a 'depends on what you expect' type thing. How many miles do you have on your truck now?

In my opinion......
It is important to remember that the effects of a chip are subtle.
A mod like a blower or something would give a great deal of performance gains. The chips give gains, just not so drastic.
I think for a mod that dosen't require opening the motor, a chip is pretty good.
I have the Superchip. I like it a lot. I can feel the difference.
I would check out what the other chip makers have to offer but my income dosen't allow that. I am also quite pleased with the customer service that came with my Superchip.
If am convinced that another chip is better, I will get it.

1500 miles on new truck
Texaco 93 octane (last 3 tanks before chip)

Since there seems to be some question of how long it would take the chip to perform completely, Dyno results would not be accurate. I think I will stick with seat of the pants. When I get a feel for which one I like better (assuming either is noticeable), I will pull the chip and do a dyno run with and without to get a good set of numbers to play with. (Will probably run it twice on each to make sure I have some consistency)

Xcessive performance has a really nice dynojet chassis dyno. $65 for three pulls.

Later...

Ken800 I had a similar experiace with the Diablo,I sent it back, then I tried a Superchip and Man what a difference, especially with the shifts. For me the Superchip was better. I've since upgraded to a flip-chip. It would be intresting to see how many of us tried them both, and what the concenses was. BTW, I noticed a difference right away with the chips installed. I'm sure it may take a while for the full effect and all, but I don't buy the "have to wait a few miles" to get a fair comparison.

I guess the 01 computer doesn't learn very fast. I have about 300 miles on the Diablo now and it seems like the performance gets a little better each day. Right now I would have to say I would consider myself "satisfied" with performance gains at this point. I still would not say "blown away". I will be chaging it over to a superchip in the next couple of days...

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Diablo is not a POS. it is performing quite well now.
