Edge Evolution worth it?

I was looking at the Edge Evo programmer for my 97 F150 4.6. Are the power increases worth the money you spend on the programmer? Also is there actually a fuel mileage increase with them that is worth noting? Im not too concerned bout MPG's but every bit counts on a tight budget!

I had a first generation Edge for gas, on my 98 4.6 4x4, and I am currently running an EVO on my Expd. I could tell a difference in performanc on my 98. Using a G Tech it showed about .2 seconds better in qrtr mile. Mileage wise I got about 1 mpg better, on perormance tune.. Biggest thing I liked was teh improved shift performance. With the Evo on Expd, I can't tell as big a difference in performance, truck seems to run a little better but not earth shattering. Mileage has been a wash, on any tune. Currently running on tow tune. Use to adjust for tire size, and will adjust for my new gears.
Speedometer and gear adjustment will not apply to 97/ 98 models. Also with an Evo are no longer available from Edge. If you by used you are stuck with canned tunes, unless it has already been converted to a Gryphon. PHP is no longer doing teh conversuions.
All that being said it comes down to budget, and what you want. Are canned tunes worth it? YOu will get a butt load of responses eaither way.

An Edge Evolution on your year truck or trucks from 97-03+04h it ain't worth the risk of having the cable issue POP up unexpectedly.......look into the edge CS if you really want a programmer....
