Have been looking at getting an edge cs programmer for awhile, but I started shopping around and it looks like bully dog is a little bit cheaper and has a few more features that the edge does'nt. So my question is if anyone has one for there 09-10' F150s and how do they like them and if they recommend one for my truck? Or if I should just go with the edge cs.
Thanks, Merry Christmas!

i read that the edge is much better. but i havent messed with the edges much. i have a buddy with the bully dog and compared to my custom tunes its nothing special. if you get an edge and decide to do something different later on you can get it turned into a gryphon and have php custom tune it. just gives you more options.
I'm not going to mess with custom tunes, I've heard too many headache stories about them and I dont want to spend the extra money on something that would make the smallest difference. But if we are just talking about canned tunes, your saying to go with the edge?

I have yet to read a negative review about his tunes or service.
SCT and custom tunes is the only way to go for that year. 5 Star Tuning has a great track record.
Okay so I'm going to take other peoples advice an go with the SCT. I have heard custome tunes can be costly and that they take for ever to get after you order an purchase them. Are they really that much worth it ??

Yes, they are worth the $$$ and yes, they are worth any reasonable waiting period. However, 5 Star does not make you wait long, unless they have changed their performance record. Originally Posted by 2010fx4

I ran Edge canned tunes for 31,000 miles and then ran a custom tune for 90,000 miles on my 2005 5.4. The custom tunes were worth a lot more than I paid for them.

haha, okay okay I'm going to look into it more and should order by the next week. Could ya'll give me a ball park range on how much custom tunes would cost from 5 star. And also any advice on what to ask for?? I just know what tuners are supposed to do, I really dont have any real knowledge of how they actually work so any advice from people would be great?
Thanks for the responses.
Thanks for the responses.
According to the 5startuning.com website, a SCT X3 is $415 including 3 custom tunes. If you buy the device elsewhere, they sell custom tunes at $140 for 2.
