Exclamation Php cs & cts v.3.0

If you are a CS or CTS owner and have custom tunes from us, please see Bill's post from today about Version 3.0 of Edge's software!

Stupid question...what post?

EDIT: Ahh, this post: http://forum.gopowerhungry.com/announcement.php?f=&a=13 (right?)

To everyone that has been waiting for their custom tunes to be reloaded following the v3.0 CS/CTS update, we have had to hold off on applying them due to a very serious concern related to the v3.0 update itself. Edge has been working to get the problems fixed, but has had difficulty in locating the exact nature of the problem.

Since the release of v3.0, several customers have noted problems with the way their vehicles were running. This was especially noticeable on 2009+ F150 trucks, since the v3.0 release also included modifications to the transmission controller. The first concern revolves around the way the device was handling the custom options (the Rev Limiter especially), and the fact that changes were being applied to the calibrations that were not being specifically requested. In many cases, an unexpected change to the Rev Limiter was causing shifting issue under heavy throttle which resulted in the engine "bouncing" off the Rev Limiter before the transmission could shift. While not detrimental or dangerous, it certainly is not a desirable characteristic and caused a great deal of customer concern as well as a number of complaints. The second issue has to do with the way certain calibration changes were being applied. There was a bug where certain functions and maps were being doubled in the calibration build which would cause some corruption of the calibration data. Since several maps and functions are redundant, drivability issues would arise only in certain situations. Fortunately, the ECM would detect these errors and would result in the occasional "Limp Mode" on certain vehicles.

We have been working with Edge to get this issue resolved and up to this point Edge has requested that we delay any custom updates in order to rule out any specific issues with Fusion that may have been causing the concern. Edge has even gone to the extent that they have had to "roll back" programmers to the latest v2.3 version in order to work around the issues until they could be resolved.

As of today, 11/16/2011 , Edge is confident that the firmware concerns are resolved and should have an update available within the next 24 hours. As soon as I am informed that the update is available, I'll will be directly contacting all users that have open messages in this area to request that they complete the necessary updates so that we can reapply any custom tunes.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and appreciate your continued patience while Edge rolls out the new update.

Edge still has not resolved the problems they've had with the 3.0 software.

Jack,

I had an email from Edge on Thursday saying they had the upgrade ready for my truck (2009 F150, 5.4). I had downloaded the original 3.0 into my CTS with PHP tunes and requested reload of the tunes from PHP. That's when all heck broke loose with the 3.0. Essentially, I had a very expensive gauge display for several months.

At any rate, I downloaded the new version of 3.0 on Thursday night, along with the canned tunes and all seems to be running well, at least in the econ and tow modes.

Hopefully Bill will be able to reload the custom tunes soon.

Do you notice the tranny acting any differently? The new update was suppose to include TCM tweaks.

Yep, it has the transmission tune to it as well. The original 3.0 also had it but I think that's where they had some issues. I haven't had a chance to thoroughly test it but I did drive in both the econ and the tow modes and it wasn't giving me the issue (trans bounce at WOT) the original 3.0 was. Shifts are firm and smooth so far.

That's good information, newsnose. I'll be interested in any further observations you have.

I have not had a chase to call edge yet. But I have the new program on my CTS. I don't bounce HARD many times any more a great improvement. BUT I have had it bounce but just one time on shifts twice, but I don't drive my truck during the week so I have less the 50 miles on it. I think its better but not right.
