What chips to buy
Hi Wittom,
Interesting post, and very well said!
It is true that people get more information from us here by far, for a couple of reasons, first, we are a registered authorized F-150 Online vendor, the first and the longest, outside of the F-150 Online Store itself.
Second, we have knowledge of this technical field as a result of all of our work checking out all the other "players" in this industry and a decade of solid experience of doing this, that 99% of the people you run into normally just do not have. Just like if you're not a dentist, you don't know how to do a root canal, most likely. That's perfeclty normal, as we are highly specialized, and will only provide the very best in powertrain programming products and services. Chances are you won't run into anyone else who has been to every "name" chipmakers facilities, who has worked with the engineering staff at every name chipmaker (save one, and we're going there in a couple fo weeks), and who has actually used, tested, examined, and compared all of the various products out there like we have.
The net result of all of this is that we have been here for years, providing that information to anyone who wants it, just like you did, just like others have, and like others will.
We do all of this at no profit, as any profits left over after what we use to support this web site are donated to charity, we do not profit from this, and that is something anyone would be hard pressed to find in this or just about any other business.
We do all we can do to help people here, yet despite all of that, there will always be those who want to complain and who think things should be different. Let them, talk is cheap. It's very simple, in this life, for all of us, we're either part of the problem, part of the solution, or just part of the scenery.
In fact, we are making a rather startling announcement in the first couple of days of this next week that will have a direct effect on this situation, and provide even more information on different products.
Thanks for your post wittom, as always, and we look forward to seeing you at the Rally!

I don't tape my chip into place. Back on my 97 I noticed that the lip on the PCM bracket was causing the chip to come off the connector. After bending the bracket I never had to tape it in place. Trust me I do some pretty wilt ***** off road and the truck bounced a lot.
One of the first things i did with my 2000 was to bend the lip. Not a problem. As for the Diablo being inside the PCM, 6 of one or ½ dozen of another. What ever works. I like the outside mount because I have to remove the chip when the truck is serviced.
