Talking SCT programmer transmission question?

I bought a SCT programmer from my local performance shop. I was pretty confident they knew what they were doing. Now I'm not so sure. But before I get another tune from somewhere else I had some questions...

They sold me the SCT preloaded flash programmer not the xcal3. They said they dont sell that one cause they can just program the preloaded one as well. So I ran the canned tune for a few days before I had the tune written for my 07 f150 kingranch. I also bought the JLT CAI. The canned tune made the tranny shift nice and firm (a little too firm from 3-4). Then when I uploaded their custom tune, the tranny was back to stock. When I told them this they said the PCM for the tranny cannot be broken into and therefore the tranny cannot be changed from stock.

If this was true, why did the canned tune have a nice firm shift?
Thanks in advance for any input.

Ahha, ok. So i went back to them and told them I want a firmer shift. It is a little better now but i am still weary of them. I guess the guy that actually writes the tunes knows more than the guy that told me the tranny cannot be tuned.

Also, the fan seems like it is always running. Which seems kind of counter productive if I am trying to save on fuel. I understand that he is trying to keep the motor running at a cooler temp so he can add more timing. But its always on when I pull off the line which definitely takes away power and uses fuel.

STOP...

STOP...

STOP...

using a tuning device to firm up shifts is asking for trouble, using an inexperienced tuner and a clueless owner of a vehicle is also asking for trouble

Oh well ok tera, thanks for clearing all of that up for us clueless operators.

Since when does owning a vehicle require extensive knowledge of the inner workings of every aspect of that vehicle. It doesn't, that is why we pay people to guide us and tell us what we need for the results we expect. So do me a favor and do not respond again unless u plan on stepping down off of your high horse and actually providing some useful input on the subject.

don't worry, I'm adding you to my ignore list while I pitty your truck

you don't care about your truck, you've taken it back to some morons who clearly are clueless, you ignore solid advice given to you and you get upset when someone tells you to STOP what you're doing because you're doing it wrong

I'm doing it wrong, ok. Well thanks for all of your helpful and not at all condescending remarks. Listen bro, ppl come here to get advice and share information. Nobody needs to be belittled by some super forum know it all.

Oh, and the advice was not ignored, but before I drop $60 I figured I would give the guy a chance to change some of the things I didn't like.

And why add me to an ignore list, I didn't seek out a thread u started and try to make u look like an idiot. I believe it was the other way around. "Clueless operators", I believe the phrase was.
