chip and programmer?

chip and programmer?

ok hey guys need help with this because i have no clue....ok im buying a GForce performance chip, and was lookin at evo programmer. Now my question is are these good. And can i have a chip an programmer together? im tryin to achieve the most power for offroad, while my truck is still a daily driver, so i need mpg's the best i can.

The GForce chip will do next to nothing for you. Nothing will give you much gain with mpg. You need to read this thread.

yea i read that earlier thats what made me think of gettin one and i see almost everyone has one of some type. so the G-Force is garbage? im confused i know nothing about this stuff and that forum waas nice, but still not what im rlly wonderin i wanna know if i can run both a chip and pogrammer and them work together.

oh yes that must have been my wife askin cuz thats y i asked. cool well thanks for the warnin i thought it was to awesome but im gullable i reckon....haha, anyways well thanks you guys for lettin me know appreciate you savin me money so then wat would you suggest as a programmer or chip. im puttin on a 6" lift with 35's, not re-gearin for a yr or so, i'd say 70% city, 30% highway.....and once a month-ish offroadin. doin a true dual exhuast with high flo cats, and a cai. so thats all wat would be a good adition?

I think the best solution, if you can afford it, is to do the true dual exhuast with high flo cats, and a cai all at once, and up front. Then order your tuner with custom tunes. The lift and larger tires won't affect the tune much, except for the tire size, but I'm pretty sure almost all of the programmers will allow the user to change tire size on their own. If you do all the intake and exhaust work up front, and give that information to your Tuner, he can best set you up right up front. Doing the intake and exhaust mods after you get a custom tune is going to probably cost you more money for additional tunes, or changes to your custom tune you have already. Even if you do find a Company willing to offer free tweaks for any additions, it is still a PITA for both him and you to do things multiple times. I do know that some of these tuners will give you free tweaks to your custom tune, if you bought the programmer from them, and then later on, buy the Mod parts from them. (CAI as an example). I did see on the 5startuning website that they offer better deals when you combine the programmer with The CAI that they sell.

Don't do the chip.....its snake oil.....programmers with custom tunes work wonders for the driveability of these trucks....look into PHP@ www.gopowerhungry.com

Candianelbow....thanks for that info thats purdy much exactly the answer im lookin for and thanks everyone for lettin me the chip was a fake and chip arent very good anyway i almost bought it but i logged on here first... thanks to all u guys for your in put, now i gotta find me a programmer.
