need some help and opinions
ok so i have had my 2010 lariat for about 4 months now and i am looking for some new changes
so far i have added
1. flow master exhaust
2. 20 "hd rims and 305/55/20 nitto trail grappler tires
truck looks great and sounds great but i wanted to buy a tuner so i just purchased a sct sf3 3015 i recently hooked it up and since i am new to all of this is was kind of overwhelming.
i read through many of the forum and still have not been able to find the answer i am looking for . i wanted to do a tune and it wont allow me to do a custom tune and it tell me to refer to the website for dealer information. is there a certain website that i need to go to to download those custom tunes.
so not being able to do a custom tune i refered to the defult tune they had and the only thing i changed is the revs/min and i changed that to 620 to compensate for my 35 in tires... it seems like there is so much more stuff to look through and change but i do not know if changing it will help me out. quite honestly i am very confused by what alot of the options mean ...

on this tuner there is a strategy tune would you reccomend just using the default option in the tune or changing things around.
the reasion i ask is i am confused on the transmission section there
are gears
1-2
2-3
3-4
4-5
5-6
and then you can select from 0% to 25% can someone tell me what exactly that means
also since i changed my tires around should i change my axle ratio around too ??

The SCT 3015 unit is the generic Ford unit without any custom tunes. If you got the SCT 3000 unit, that comes with custom tunes from your tuning person. I'm not even sure if the 3015 unit comes with 3 "generic tunes" like "economy", "tow" , or "performance" The 3015 unit might be bare bones meaning you can only change the "User" features like tires sizes and gear ratios, etc.
My advice would be to contact a reputable tuner such as VMP or 5 Star tuning, and purchase some custom tunes. Even with a stock truck, custom tunes can help get the most out of your truck.
Oh...and as for changing your gears on the SCT..... find out what gears your truck actually have, and then change the unit to that gear. these units are defaulted to a certain gear ratio, for example...3.55, and you might have a 3.73...so youd want to change it on the unit. If you had a custom tune....the tuner would have programed in your gears size so you wouldnt have to adjust it ever time you loaded a tune
