I suspect it can't, but that's just a WAG on my part. I would think the OSS count is simply an observed value, not something you COULD change with anything. Why would you want to change it? I has nothing to do with your vehicle's speed, or even shift points.

If you can adjust the normal shift points to a slightly lower value, you might pick up some mileage.

Well I know the SCT cam cube the OSS count. The count on my transmission is 6, the new trans is 24 so I need to change it.

Huh? What does it mean to "cam cube" something?

Somehow, I don't think we're talking about the same thing here. The OSS (Output Shaft Speed) is simply an observed number. It's a function of your engine speed, whether or not your Torque Converter is locked and your commanded gear.

cam cube is something my phone autocorrect decided it wanted to say

the transmission i currently have, a 4R70W, count is 6. the new transmission im putting in, 4R75E, count is 24. i need to change the count in the computer so the transmission shifts at the correct points and functions properly. a fellow member did the exact same thing with a SCT.

Try to PM the other member who did the tranny swap.....

OK, I'm not sure this is a big deal as long as the vehicle speed is correct (which the SCT can certainly correct). Normal shifting is a function of vehicle speed and throttle position as I recall. (It will upshift at a higher speed if you're accelerating harder and vice-versa). The vehicle speed is inferred, by the PCM, off of the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) reading. I honestly don't think the OSS comes in to play at all (but I'm happy to be corrected if I'm wrong - it won't be the first time it's happened).

WOT shifting is purely a function of Engine RPM.

I had to laugh at "cam cube". I thought maybe you meant "can cube"? But then, "cube" a reading? (Raise it to the 3rd power?) So, I decided it had to be a case of total electronic "big brother" gibberish.

Thinking more clearly about this though, I wonder if you might need a customized tune for the transmission code in your PCM? I'm certain there are more differences than just OSS count values. Things like line pressures, clutch release and lockup intervals and so on come to mind. I know the SCT devices can do this, if a proper tune is supplied by a competent tuner such as PHP, Troyer, or VMP. I think I'd talk to one of these fellers if I were you. I don't think they'll steer you wrong or try to sell you anything you don't need.

And, OOPS! I just went back and saw you had a Diablo device! *headslap*. Somehow, I got it in my mind you had an SCT. 88Racing's post is right on. See if DiabloMike has any ideas. He seems an all right guy to me too.

I think a conversation with Gotts is in order, since he worked everything out for his truck.

And, this is way above anything I've done, so I can't add much beyond vague considerations.

I've been talking with him a lot, he's been very helpful. I just wanted to confirm that the Diablo would work. I didn't want to shell out for the SCT.

I can make this change for you in a custom tune, no problem.

Email me your last tune written out of the Predator and I'll hook it up.

Sorry for the delay, was gone at PRI last week, and have not caught up yet
