tuner turns on by itself

I have a gryphon cs and I know battery voltage can play havic on the tuners. For several months now my tuner has been turning on when I either open my doors (driver or pass.) and sometimes when I use the fab to unlock the doors. I have not had any other battery issues and other than this the tuner works fine (or at least it seems to). This leads me to think that it is not the battery. The truck turns over every time. I have tried to unplug the unit several times, but this issue persists. sometimes if the unit turns on when the door opens it does not turn on when the engine starts. Usually by pressing the "enter" button the unit will come right on.

I am afraid to do anything like updates because I don't what to mess up the custom tune by Bill.

Can anyone help here??

Wait until next week and give PHP a call......
Or
Call edge......

That's all I got....never seen or heard of one doing this before?

I am leaning towards the battery or cleaning the battery connections though....It's not dead yet but something like a voltage variation is causing the CS to turn on.....

I had a couple odd occurrences where it would either stay on after I turned the truck off or, mysteriously turn itself on when the truck was off. This all happened to me when my battery was on the way out. After getting a new battery, I have not had anymore issues.

Do note I have the original style Gryphon, not the CS. I do not know what hardware differences there are between the two other than the display, therefore our problems may be unrelated. I don't know how valid they are but maybe a local parts store could run a battery test for you?

As mdhawkin says, you should have your battery load tested. I don't know if the CS/CTS units behave like the older Gryphons did when battery voltage dropped, but I suspect this is the cause of your problems. If you DO get the battery load tested, I'd disconnect the Gryphon at the OBD port so it won't "see" a sudden voltage drop, which is not really good for electronics. And neither is a voltage spike, which could happen with a charger being applied.
