How to tell if my truck has the latest reflash?

I just bought a "new to me" 2005 screw 5.4 lariat from a non ford dealership (dodge/jeep) and it runs ok but my past 2005 Scab averaged about 16 mpg with the same motor/trans/rear setup. This one avg about 13.5. I had several reflashes done on my old truck and I wonder if this one needs an update. Anyway to tell what the latest version in it is? Also, when cold and first started it idles aroun 1800rpm for about 10-15 sec. The other one, never got above 1000 rpm on warm up. Is that a reflash issue too? Any help is appreciated.

I guess I'd take it to a Ford dealership and ask if they could tell you. It's certainly not hard to read the calibration (hex) code in the PCM.

I took my '09 in to have the latest version flashed before getting custom tunes for my CTS.
