Each tuner has their own method of going about this.

good luck

I'll have to ask him then how he thinks I should go about this. Like I said though, I want to get my tranny serviced, plugs changed, TB cleaned yada yada I want the truck running perfect to start before I datalog

No, "swapping on the fly" means doing it with the engine running - something you can do with a "chip" (since it does not reprogram the PCM). The advantage of having a programmer like the Edge, Gryphon or Livewire in your truck is that they all offer additional gauge readouts that keep you better informed on the status of your engine and transmission.

On a gas engine, the only benefit of having the programmer in the truck is if it has gauges, such as the Edge and Gryphon and Livewire. If no gauges, program the PCM and put the hardware where you want to store it. Takes 5 minutes.

what exactly is a "evo converted by PHP"? im looking into purchasing one from the BST and just curious what that means. Is the EVO capable of custom tunes like the Gryphon CS? Also other question is do i need a custom tune with the DWV intake mod?

Simple.

A Gryphon is a rebadged, lobotomized canned Edge product, done exclusively by PHP.

Initially preloaded with ehanced canned tunes by Bill, and updateable to full custom tuning upon payment + wait time.

Do some reading on PHP's site for full details, pricing, etc: www.gopowerhungry.com

If you just enlarge the snorkel and leave the rest of the intake largely intact, no correction is needed.

Just adding some info on the highlighted bold text....

This does not pertain to the CS+CTS programmers....this is only for the edge evolution upgraded to a monochrome Gryphon.

Depends on which code it is?
Programmers can clear codes BUT if the issue that's causing the code IS NOT FIXED then the code will come back.
You'll need to figure it out and get it fixed.....

One example of a code the programmer cannot clear is a p1000......this one needs to be drive cycled till its gone.
