Edge Evo, Gryphon CS, or SCT?

Ive read up on all of them except the SCT tuner. The edge and gryphon are pretty identical but the Gryphon seems to be the better tuner and appears more user-friendly. My question is which one is easier to get custom tunes for and the MOST user friendly. I like the idea of having it on the dash but its not exactly a necessity. As of right now the only mods will be an exhaust until i have the programmer and a tune made up then i will install a CAI. Headers eventually possibly but nothing to serious as the truck is already up in miles.

Edge-Cheaper, mounted on the dash, not as pretty as the gryphon
Gryphon- Pricey, mounted on the dash, most tuning capability(unless im mistaken..please clarify that if i am)
SCT-middle of the road price, no dash, plug and tune, possibly the most customizable but please clarify as well.

Be gentle guys im new to tuning and just trying to get the best bang for my buck since im in the process of paying off my school debt

EDGE = canned POS (has the "guages")

Gryphon = not bad when custom tuned (has the "guages")

SCT LiveWire = not bad when custom tuned (has the "guages")

SCT Xcal3 = not bad when custom tuned

Diablo Predator = not bad when custom tuned

All equally easy. They are not hard to use at all. The main decisions are do I want custom tunes, and yes, you should. The next is do I want gauges and after that, whom do I want to write the custom tunes.

Custom tune wait times are definitely a downfall for the Gryphon man. Bill works hard to get them done, but just be prepared to wait at least a month. I ran a custom 87 which needed adjusting but in the meantime I switched to the 93 performance with i prefer. I still haven't used the revised tune and probably won't. The 93 has guts and when all my maintance is done this spring, I will datalogue for Bill to perfect the 93 to my liking and what the truck needs If you want fast turnaround and still want gauges, look into the SCT livewire from VMP Tuning. Justin seems to have fast turn-around times and does a nice job from what I read.

alright. ill check into that one. the only SCT i had been looking at was the xcal2

SCT Livewire sounds really nice, except it doesnt have a nice looking pod like the edge or gryphon. i didnt wanna have to get a suction cup for the windshield. anyone on here have it custom mounted anywhere else?

^^ That's a good idea, John. What are you gonna use for A/F's?

That's something I am wondering bud. Any advice on how to properly do this? My next step was to research the best was to do this so Bill has a solid file to go on

Well - ideally, an external wideband is best. Lacking that, there may be a way to use the narrowband O2 voltages, for stock trucks. That would be up to Bill, though. You'd also need fuel trims, load, MAF counts, spark advance, RPM, throttle position, IAT, CHT, and a couple / few other DMR/PID's. Again - it's Bill's call. Each tuner has their own method of going about this.

good luck
